FTE: Part-time or Full-time (up to 40 hours per week)
Schedule: Flexible, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Newly Institute was founded to provide long-lasting change within the mental health industry, our community, and with our clients. By fusing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model with medically managed therapies, our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access, rapid resolution, rapid return to work, and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety, depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and chronic pain.
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, you will assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for individuals experiencing complex mental health conditions. Following our rotational therapist model, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve positive client outcomes, while sharing our core values of communication, community, excellence, health, and innovation.
Role Summary & Key Accountabilities:
Provide client-centred trauma-informed care using evidence-based approaches, including EMDR and/or ART. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, delivering individual therapy, facilitating psychoeducation groups (e.g., ACT, DBT skills, mindfulness, sleep education), and supporting clients following psychopharmacological treatment. Clinicians work with clients presenting with PTSD, psychological injury, addictions, depression, anxiety, moral injury, personality disorders, and related mental health concerns.
Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary clinical team through regular case consultations, complex case discussions, and shared care models. Maintain timely clinical documentation, including session notes, assessments, discharge summaries, and third-party reports. Participate in professional consultation, supervision, and relevant clinical meetings.
Contribute to community mental health promotion and the development of mental health and addictions resources.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health assessment and treatment
Experience in evidence-based trauma therapy (EMDR and/or ART preferred)
Experience with individual, group, and/or family counselling is an asset
Equivalent experience may be considered
Education:
Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology or a related field
Formal training in EMDR and/or ART is a significant asset
